Golf & Grands Crus Weekend

Golf & Grands Crus Weekend

For one weekend only, the vineyards of Sauternes and Barsac will be transformed into a pop-up golf course, marked out by 11 of the region’s most stunning châteaux.

A novel weekend of golf, gastronomy and wine tasting.

This unique event, organized by les Crus Classés de Sauternes et Barsac en 1855, will take place on 8 and 9 September 2012. Amateurs of golf and fine wine alike will have a chance to savour some of the most exquisite sweet wines in the world in a picture-perfect setting and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The weekend boasts a program rich in activities, and offers beginners the opportunity to discover golf and more devout golfers the chance to improve their swing with tips from golf pros.

Golf courses will be set up for the event in each of the 11 participating châteaux. For two days, participants can work on their handicap while discovering truly exceptional locations and wines between tees.

The worlds of golf and the Grands Crus share many of the same values, not least of which is their unique way of skillfully making the most of Nature’s gifts. In golf, the quest for performance culminates in a masterful dose of accuracy, controlled strength, excellence and elegance. These values are fully reflected in the Sauternes and Barsac Grands Crus from the 1855 classification. From this was born the idea of uniting the two worlds, and creating a singular moment of conviviality and refinement.
